Getting Organized

Here's my latest update. I have just found a great site where you can get a coupon database of all the magazine, catalina, newspaper, etc. coupons. It is called Grocery Coupons: A Full Cup - it's free, but you do have to register. I am hoping this helps me with using more of my newspaper coupons and not having to spend so much time on my slow computer with my poor, old, finicky printer with the printables - they can be a supplement, not a major source.

I have also just completely updated my savings excel form from the time I started my couponing in earnest (the middle of April). Here's the breakdown from April - present.

Total OOP (all stores including Home Depot, Lowes, Dollar Tree, D.I., Target, WinCo, Wal-Mart, Maceys, Smiths, Fresh Market, etc.): $1,879.63

Total Saved: $706.99
% Saved: 26%

Average Spent per Week:$171.94
Average Saved per Week: $75.59 or 30.5%

I have made a lot of mistakes, did not always record my savings, etc. so I am hoping that my percentage improves in this next quarter, but just wanted to take a moment to finalize my reckoning instead of all the back-logging I've been doing lately. But, hurrah! It is making a difference, my cupboards are stocking up nicely, but my pocketbook is nearly the same minus a few slip-ups from time to time.

GOAL FOR 3rd QUARTER:

Weekly Overall Spending: $100
Weekly Savings Goal: 45%

Weekly Savings

Happy 3rd/4th of July all! I had to buy some fruit for a party and knew there were no coupons for this, so instead I searched for the least expensive Strawberries - once I discovered Wal-Mart was my best shopping source, I looked for all the "freebies" with coupons I could get to make this shopping experience a little more fun. It was so fun that I have kept out my receipt to say good job to myself several times over the last day. Here's the breakdown:

4 lbs strawberries (97 cents each - the website told me 78 cents, but oh well, we know Wal-Mart prices can differ!)
3 Cantaloupe 98 cents each
7 ears corn at 15 cents each (should have waited for Winco and their 10 cent deal)
YoPlus (listed at $1.68, but rang up at $2 - less $1 off coupon = $1)
GoGurts (not the best price, not the worst price - $2.25 each with 80 cents off 2) = $1.85 each
Bananas at 49 cents each
3 Dentyne Gum at 96 cents each less $1 off coupons x3 = free plus $.09 overage overall
2 Benadryl Itch Relief Stick $2.28 - less $5 off 2 coupon = free plus $0.44 overage
Noxema Razor $2.97 less $2 off coupon = $0.97 for 4 razor

Total OOP $18.91 - total savings = 40.2% (or $12.71)

Winco Run

I ran to Winco today and here's the rundown on what I bought (I already spent my $ for the week, so it is a bare-essentials week for purchases)

4 gallons milk, 10 tortillas, 2 cans hair spray = $10.59
