Sunflower Farmer's Market

Did I mention that there is a Sunflower Farmers Market on the way to almost everything? There is and they had a great sale this past week. I was able to get the following happy items:

ORGANIC Red & Green Leaf Lettuce for 99 cents each (I bought 3)
Ground Beef for $1.68/lb (I bought about 30 lbs between 2 trips)
Strawberries for $.88/lb - limit 4 (I went twice so I could get a few more to freeze)

Happiness. So, in my purchases, I Spent:

Total out of pocket = $72.88 (ouch, I know, but it is all in the name of food storage and MEAT!)
Savings = $105.54 or 59.2% (ahh! That sounds better)
Amount per item = $1.40 (this is divided into lb/meat and strawberries, etc.)

I do like that store when I can get a good savings, good meat, and good food!

More Free Milk from Smiths

Today was the last day we could get the free milk deal with Smiths, since we were out of milk and low on cereal, I ran to the store to stock up on a few things. Here's my breakdown:

4 gallons of milk = FREE

4 boxes of Crispix = $2/each (and 2 free milks) (because I had 2 $1/2 coupons besides their 4/$10 sale.

4 more boxes of Kelloggs = $2/each (and 2 free milks) because I had 2 other $1/2 coupons and their 4/$10 sale)

2 bottles of Miracle Whip = $2 each (because of the March Madness when you buy 10 deal and a coupon for $1/2) and a sale

Gorton's Fish Sticks = FREE (I won that from the March Madness game)

8 Dannon's Light & Fit (4 for $1) because of an e-coupon and the March Madness when you buy 10 deal)

6 Sunny Delights = $.64 each because of the March Madness when you buy 10 deal and a tiny $.25 coupon * 6

ALL IN ALL: a good, quick day at the store for much needed milk, cereal, mayo and some fun.

Total out of pocket spent: $28.39

Total before coupons and savings: $67.60

Total saved: $39.21 or 58%

Average cost per item = $1.14 (including cereal, milk & mayo - all regularly greater than $2)

Here is my RiteAid tally for today. I just want to note that today's purchase was a bit bumpier than planned. I was just about ready to go yesterday at noon when our printer decided to stop working, so I didn't get about $6 of coupons. Then, the day blew up so it took until today to go, so lots of items were already gone - making for less than the best trip, but still incredible savings. I am just sad that it was only 70% instead of 85% savings, but I'll probably recover. Hopefully some of you were able to profit from my research more than me.

Here's the breakdown:
